Sleeping Boys
Like I said, at the hotel the boys were napping and I needed something to do so I got my camera out. I don't try to shoot on anything except auto typically but the boys were so still I decided to mess with the manual settings. These aren't anything fabulous but a few turned out pretty cute!

Staycation - Part 2
We got an AMAZING deal on a room at Redrock Station so we stayed there Wednesday and Thursday nights. The rooms were really nice. We didn't do tons those two days but it was so relaxing. For some reason sitting at home makes me restless but sitting in the comfy room was so peaceful.
Vance loved the hotel. He thought it was awesome to have his own bed. He tucked his cars in, grabbed his blanket, and watched Netflix on the iPad.
We set up a little bed and changing station for Keller. Man I forgot how much STUFF newborns take. He's little but had a suitcase to himself!
I think everyone's favorite part of the hotel was the bathtub. It was really deep, reclined, and had a TV! I took a bath, Chad took two, and I think Vance took at least 8 or 9 in two days!!! We definitely need one of these in our next house.
Thursday afternoon all the boys were sleeping. I decided to take out my camera and finally try messing around with some of the manual settings. Here's one I snapped of myself but I am going to post the other ones in another post. They aren't great, but it kept me occupied.
Of course we laid by the pool too! We waited until the early evening so it wasn't too hot for Keller.
I love my hubby!!!
Isn't he handsome? I think I married up for sure :)
Vance liked running around the fountain in the middle of the pool...
and swimming with Dad.
Our whole family cuddled up in bed at the hotel. (Excuse my ugliness - I had already washed my face and gotten in PJ mode!)

Staycation - Part 1
Chad had this week off!!! We decided instead of him taking time off right after we had the baby when everyone else is willing to help that we would have him take his time off when the baby was a few weeks old. It was a GREAT decision. This is his last week before school starts again so we have enjoyed a full week of no work and no school - just lots of FUN!!! I think it was just what our family needed before things get crazy again.
I had been wanting to go on a vacation since like February or March but with being pregnant and then having a newborn I figured a real vacation just wasn't in the cards this year. I told Chad we were going to have a staycation and play tourist in Vegas. It has been way more fun than I thought it would be. Here's our family photo in front of the famous Vegas sign. Can you believe both of us have lived here our entire lives and never taken a picture in front of this sign?
We had a few nights at the beginning of our vacation with just Keller. My mom and dad took the older grandkids on a campout at Mt Charleston. I didn't get any pictures of what we did, but Chad and I had a great time. Friday we went to the District and listened to the live band. We also did a little shopping (of course). Afterwards we went to The Crepe Shack for dessert. We had never been there, but we will definitely be going back. Saturday I slept in and Chad went shooting with some friends. That afternoon we went to lunch and a movie. Later we met up with Amy, Jennie, Leslie, and Joe for dinner at Carrabbas and then yogurt at U-swirl. It was a very enjoyable few days!
Monday started the vacation fun with Vance. We headed to Gameworks (another place I have never been).
Vance (and Chad) were excited to play all the games. Keller and I mostly just watched and took pictures.
I think the favorite of the day was air hockey. Vance concentrated so hard while he played and "beat" both mom and dad.
Mom had to try a little harder when Dad stepped up to help :)
The 2nd favorite was bowling. The game took forever and I was bored, but Vance didn't mind at all. I think in 5 frames he had still only bowled like a 25. You know it's bad when Vance sits down to watch his ball.
Next up was M&M world. Vance thought the big M&Ms were hilarious!
We ventured up to the 4th floor and saw a "super fast racecar." Now my day was complete. lol
Vance made a custom bag of M&Ms. We took the opportunity to practice our colors as we filled it up.
Monday night I went to Cheesecake Factory and The Help with the girls and Chad took the boys to Pinball Hall of Fame (fun) and to buy his textbooks for fall semester (not fun!).

Next up was the statue show at the Forum shops. I think it's so boring but Vance was mesmerized the entire time. He liked the "tankfish" (or fish tank as we call it) too.
Keller? He just slept through pretty much everything. One of the many things I love about newborns is that you can take them anywhere!
One of the things I wanted to do this vacation was get dessert at Max Brenner. It's inside the Forum shops so we stopped there for a pre-lunch treat.
We all shared a peanut butter fudge sundae that was D-I-V-I-N-E! Vance kept trying to say he didn't like it yet he couldn't keep his spoon out of it.
We grabbed lunch at McDonalds and then met my mom and the Terry twins at Pump It Up. We went a few weeks ago but Vance has been dying to go back with Dad. Dads are just much more fun than moms! Look at Vance's face in the next two pictures.
His smile looks exactly like ours - I think it's too cute!
Grandma was perfectly content to watch from the sidelines and hold Keller.
Wednesday morning Vance had his sports class for an hour and a half (a class he goes to twice a week at the community center). He loves it! While he was at class Chad and I went to Hash House A Go Go for breakfast. It was way too much food but all delicious! Then we took Vance to Chuck E Cheese.
I love Chuck E Cheese because for $5 Vance keeps himself occupied for an hour or two and I can relax or visit with whoever is there with me.

The Ogden's
The Ogden's are moving to Texas. I'm SOOOO sad to have my sister and her family leave. Rob has been out of work for awhile and the job market isn't looking so great in Vegas. They have friends who live in Frisco (a town about 30 minutes north of Dallas) who offered Rob a job in sales with Staples. It was a pretty good offer so they decided to move. Everything has happened in a whirlwind because he didn't get the job offer until like August 6th. They decided to take it on August 10th and wanted to have the kids moved by the time school started on August 22nd!
Needless to say we have all been busy trying to get them ready. Here's me with all of my sisters and dad getting ready to start packing. My mom was out of town or else you can guarantee she would have been there too.
I love Jennie and will miss her so much! I'm also excited for her family and their new adventure. I hope they will find what they are looking for in Texas and that Rob will do great at his new job. I told her to remember that no matter how many friends she makes in Texas that it's not the same as family! We will miss the Ogden's but luckily they are only a phone call away...

On Wednesday Rob and the kids left for Texas. I went to go say bye and they all loved on Keller one more time before they left. Jennie's kids are so much fun and we'll miss them tons. Family get togethers will be a little quieter (haha) but we'll miss the added chaos. They are excited to go to better schools and hopefully make more and better friends than they have here in Vegas.

Grandkid Campout
My parents took all the grandkids on a two-day campout before school started. Vance was just a little excited...
Here's Vance with Grandma and Grandpa and the beloved Superchief. They left Friday night and didn't come home until Sunday afternoon. It was so nice to have a few days with just me, Chad, and Keller!
I'm not sure what exactly Vance was doing here. He was just so excited to leave he kept jumping around posing and telling me to take pictures.
I stole a few pictures off of my mom's camera to document the actual camping. I think he looks so big just chillin' by the camp fire.
He played hard during the day and crashed at night my mom said.
Mom and Dad - you guys are the best! Our kids are so lucky to have such hands-on grandparents!
