Purse Bingo

My friend Kate helps put on a charity event called Purse Bingo benefitting the Children's Advocacy Center.  Her male models backed out and she asked if all of our hubbies would be willing to walk the runway.  Luckily for her all of us wives happily volunteered our husbands.  The guys were absolute troopers and put on quite the show!  They each walked the runway twice: once as their profession and once as hobby.  Chad was an accountant and soccer dad. I may be biased but I think he was the best. He had everyone (at least 400+ attendees) laughing so hard.  His ability to make me laugh has always been my favorite thing about him.

Here is Chris helping Chad out with a few buttons -
All of our hubbies behind the scenes -

All of us ladies had fun playing bingo even though none of us won :(

Chad's first runway walk he did a hilarious skip-thingy with some dad-dance moves.
The second time was the best! He was a coach and he did awkward lunges and high knees down the runway with a few of his signature dance moves. It was hysterical!

All the guys were such great sports. These men are seriously great...we have the best friends!

In between runway walks the guys had to walk around with a bucket to collect more money for the charity.  They walked and walked and only complained a few times.  They helped raise so much money for a great cause. Way to go guys!

Last Day of Preschool

Sutton was so excited for the last day of preschool! They got to have pizza with the teachers and he thought that was pretty amazing.  He looks like such a big boy in this picture!
On his last day I boycotted work and enjoyed my last few alone hours before summer ;)
 A little tangent-

Sutton loves preschool but he absolutely HATED any time he had to take pictures.  As I looked through the folder they sent home with all of his projects I couldn't help but laugh out loud as I looked at the pictures.  That boy is fiercely grumpy when he wants to be! Hahaha!

Oh Suttonbaby I just love you!

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day celebration started with a luncheon at Sutton's school.  He was so excited to have me there and to show me everything he made.

I told Chad I wanted to make a cake. He gave me everything I needed to try a recipe by Christina Tosi (a baking genius) and a promise to clean up my mess when I was done. Her birthday cake recipe has been on my baking bucket list and not having to clean it up made it that much sweeter.

My sweet Dad bought me a corsage to wear to church.  My grandma and my mom always wear one and the tradition continues with me ;)
The boys did their best to pamper me all day and cook a delicious dinner.  I love the cheese and cracker tray along with a TV and a bath.  They really are the best!
It was a perfect Mother's Day topped off with the sweetest letter from Chad!

After Bedtime

I decided I wanted to document how Chad and I usually spend our evenings after the kiddos go to bed and before we call it a night. No pictures in this post because that is not one of the things we usually do. Haha!

We usually immediately finish the “adulting” tasks of the day: dishes, tidying up, packing lunches, etc. Sometimes we laugh at how without any words we finish all those tasks as a team. We definitely have a groove and try to do it efficiently as possible so we can just be done for the day!

We talk! A lot!!!  We usually don’t see each other in the mornings and pretty much never call each other during the day so after bedtime is when we finally get to catch up. We talk about the details of daily life and kid things. But mainly we spend lots of time talking about things we are working on. We both try to be really intentional with the way we choose to spend our day so we talk about how we could do better at living in the moment and share the times we were. We talk about each other’s goals and try to make a plan for how we can best support one another. We reflect on if our daily choices are in line with our long term goals. We talk about our future and our hopes and dreams for what that may look like.  We work out any issues we may have had during the day.  We talk about the kids: both the good and the bad parts. You’d think we would get sick of talking about the same things over and over but we really don’t. I cherish those conversations.

We sit out on the patio. Sometimes we visit while we are out there. Sometimes we sip on a glass of wine. Sometimes we just sit in silence next to one another and let our thoughts wander. Whenever we do that I always am overcome with gratitude. Silence is good for the soul.

We play games! We love to play cards, even if it’s just the two of us. We also challenge one another in shuffleboard or foosball.

We cuddle on the couch and watch a show. Usually never more than an hour or else we both fall asleep. Haha! I would love to say the reason we don’t watch a lot of TV is because we don’t like it but honestly it is really because we don’t really like any of the same shows. There are a select few we both enjoy (mainly comedies) but for the most part we have entirely different preferences.

The best part of the evenings are the laughs!!!  Chad always makes me laugh. It was one of the main things that made me fall in love with him and still what I love most. Life with Chad is always fun! I wish I made him laugh more but he is a tough nut to crack. If I make him belly laugh I feel pretty dang accomplished. I know I make him laugh on the inside tho...right Chad?!

Finally we call it a night. I take up way more than my half of the bed and cuddle up. We don’t have much personal space while we sleep but we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Love you Chad and our evenings together!

Keller Soccer

Keller had another great soccer season on Inferno with Chad as his coach.
He loves soccer and always has a good time.  He is really starting to understand the game and has great foot skills.  Plus he is so dang adorable!

I love that Chad has been able to coach his team.  I think it is something he will always cherish.

I only take my camera to one game per season so these are the best shots from that game.  He played aggressive and had a great game!

Good job on another great season Kellerboy!
