Aspen Visits

My niece, Aspen, came to visit. The reason for her visit was Kelsie's graduation but I was happy to have her to myself for a few days.  We went to the Perot Museum.  Their new collector's exhibit was pretty cool -

Class BBQ

Our small group at church is the BEST! Seriously...the best! Every single person has made us feel so welcomed.  I have never made so many friends so fast. I believe that it is quite possible this class may be the reason we were supposed to move to Texas. A few weeks ago we had a class BBQ and fishing at a friends' parents' house.  They live on quite a bit of property and have two fishing ponds on it.  

We had a blast playing backyard games.

Keller has so much fun with everyone's kids.  I barely see him when we all get together.

The boys didn't have any luck fishing but had fun anyway.

Kelsie Graduation

My niece, Kelsie, graduated high school!!! We were all excited to celebrate her on her big day!

Kelsie and Jennie requested some cookies for her graduation party.  Of course I was happy to oblige! The TA is the logo for Taylor Andrews Academy - where she is going to hair school now.  I had never tried making some parts of the cookies on parchment paper first.  She wanted black, white and gold cookies. Gold is tricky because you can't make gold frosting.  So for another first I used gold spray and sprinkles to add pops of gold on the cookies.  All the new techniques went better than I had expected and I will definitely be trying them again.

She wanted girly cookies and was happy with the results ;)

While I was at it I made some cookies for a pie baking contest our Sunday School class was doing.

Back to graduation day... Here are all of us waiting impatiently for the ceremony to start!

After the ceremony we headed to lunch at Gloria's. It is a yummy Mexican restaurant.

Then we headed to the Ogdens for the party.  Jennie had worked so hard and everything was absolutely prefect!

These pictures are a little out of order.  This was the girls at lunch the day before graduation.  We all went to Jennie's to help prep for the party.

Memorial Weekend

We had a great Memorial Day Weekend.  It started off with a trip to Lake Lewisville.  We met up with my parents, the Ogdens, and the Randalls.  The weather was beautiful even though that wasn't what the forecast predicted.  

The kids played and played and played at the beach.  

Sutton fought nap time pretty hard but eventually he fell asleep on the boat.

This picture is one of my favorites.  I have so many memories of sitting on the back bench of the boat with my friends and family.  

Chad got out there and showed the kids he still has moves.  He pulled a few 360s and jumps.  They thought he was pretty cool ;)

Keller doesn't really love being on the boat but loves playing on the beach with his friends.  Saylor and Cannon are my cousin's kids and the three of them are great little buddies.

We got home just in time to unload the car and have some friend over for dinner and swimming.

The next day we headed to church.  I snapped a quick picture of my husband leading his family to worship God. I am blessed.

After church the guys went to a shooting range. They had a blast! 

After they got back the girls went to get a pedicure. Later we all went to dinner together.  After that the boys had a sleepover at my parents. Chad and I went over to a friends house to hang out with a few other couples. It was a blast!

Monday morning Chad and my dad took the older two boys fishing.  They were able to catch two and had fun exploring a new fishing lake.

I worked a little and laid by the pool while Sutton napped.  We had a wonderful weekend!!
