Summer Fun

We have been having a blast this summer.  We haven't done anything too elaborate or crazy but we are having a blast!

Growing up we used to always jump on the trampoline with the water.  My boys love it too!

 Then we moved the hose with the attachment over by the slide and...water slide!

 Keller's super hero infatuation continues.  He is the cutest Captain America ever!

 We've been trying out Jamberry nails.  I'm still perfecting the process but they are kinda fun!

 We've been having lots and LOTS of sleepovers.  Grandpa was supposed to be putting the boys to sleep but it looks like he put himself to sleep too.

 I bought my niece, Cassia, a little swimsuit and outfit.  It was so fun to shopping for a girl!

Grandma bought a slip-n-slide.  The boys LOVE it!

We enjoyed some $1 bowling.  The pictures aren't the best but it's the best we got :)

We went mini-golfing with the Mathewsons -

We went with some friends to Wet-n-Wild.  The boys played all day on these slides.

 Best of all we have spent lots of days relaxing at home in our pajamas with messy faces!

I don't want summer to end!

The Ogdens visit

The Ogdens came to visit.  Unfortunately the reason for the visit was Rob's dad passed away suddenly.  Even though there were lots of sad times, we managed to squeeze in a little fun too.

We had plenty of girls' lunches and took a trip to Mac. 

 We took a trip to the lake.  The water was glass and we had so much fun.

 My boys loved playing with their Texan cousins!

 Aunt Amy and Uncle David were even crazy enough to have all of the boys over for a sleepover!

 They also played at Grandma's house.

One thing is for sure, when you get all of these kids together chaos ensues!

The 4th in Laughlin

We wanted to take the boat somewhere fun for the Fourth of July so we booked a few rooms and headed to Laughlin.  It was so fun!!!

We spent the first day floating down the river.  We blew up a couple of tubes, tied them to the boat, and just floated.  We would also just wear our life jackets and float/swim in the river.  The water was a little cool but it was perfect because we never felt hot.

 The boys had an absolute blast! They would jump in the river, hop on the tube, go back to the boat, and repeat over and over!

 It was so relaxing.  I could've floated/swam all day!

 The only bad part of the trip happened just after this picture.  A couple jet skiers completely soaked our boat, not once but twice! On purpose! Of course it happened right after we got our lunch stuff out so it was almost completely ruined.  Luckily we managed to salvage enough to fill us up.  My dad was livid and Vance was pretty upset too.  Eventually the got over it and we had fun the rest of the day.

That night we changed into our Fourth of July outfits.  We went out to dinner and then waited for the fireworks to start.

While we were waiting for the fireworks, Grandma had lots of fun glow in the dark stuff to keep the kids occupied.  

Then Grandpa bought them the most enormous snow cones ever!

Vance got too tired to wait for the fireworks so we ended up missing them and headed up to bed.  That boy loves his sleep!!! 

The next day we went to Lake Mojave and Grandma showed us her skiing skills.  It had been 10 years but she still had it :)

My camera battery died after that but the rest of the day we played on the beach and had a blast.  

The next day we floated down the river again for a few hours in the morning before we went to breakfast and headed home! 

Baking time

I've been trying my best to keep summer simple and fun.  The other day I had the boys help me bake a cake just because.  They all lined up the barstools and took their turns helping.

Of course they all enjoyed licking the cake batter off the beater and bowl.

Once the cake was done I frosted it, served them a piece, and gave them some sprinkles to decorate.

Then all that was left to do was to eat the cake!

It really is the little things that kids enjoy most sometimes.  Or maybe they're the things I enjoy most because they are (relatively) stress-free.  Either way it's a success!
