Exploring Oregon

Chad's brother, Brent, recently married the most amazing woman, Janessa.  They got married in Portland, Oregon.  Chad wasn't able to get any time of work but we did manage to squeeze in a few hours of sightseeing the day of the wedding.

We went by Voodoo Doughnuts.  The line was CRAZY long so we decided look through the window and glimpsing the famous donuts would have to suffice.

Next was the Portland Saturday Market.  It was a big farmer's market.  We had a blast wandering down the aisles.

If you are ever in need of some tye-dye clothing, this is place to get it!

The market was right along the river so we took a little break to enjoy the river and all of the bridges.

And I enjoyed looking at the hunk standing by me :)

I was obsessed with all of the blossoming trees.  They were gorgeous!!!

Chad snapped a photo of me.  With a little direction he is turning into quite the photographer :)

I loved all of the old buildings.  They have so much character.  I wish we had more of that in Vegas.

Next we stopped at Powell's city of books.  This bookstore was one city block.  It was enormous and I could have stayed there for hours!

There are food carts EVERYWHERE in Portland.  We have been trying to eat healthier but we decided we needed to have at least one splurge.

Chad decided on a gyro and baklava.  We split them both and they were divine!

I'm sure we missed lots of things, but I'm glad we had at least a little time to play tourist.

Next up - the wedding!!!

Cup anyone?

I was going through my recent photos and saw a pattern.  I think Keller has a bit of a sippy cup obsession...

If one is good,

then two is better,

and three is fantastic!

He almost always has a blanket and sippy cup in his hands.  He doesn't care if it's water, milk, juice, etc.  He just wants his sippy cup ALL. THE. TIME.  

Keller has also been known to be a bit of a drink thief so watch your cup :)

At the park

I love Vegas this time of year!!!  It has been so nice outside and I have been doing my best to take full advantage of the beautiful weather.  Lucky for me, I have a sister who lives outdoors when it's nice.  Amy and I got out families together and went to a park.  We sat and visited -

while the kids played,

and played,

and played!!!

Keller took a few snack breaks :)

Of course no trip to the park is complete without a few balls :)

Keller thought it was hysterical to throw the ball at Brayden.  He was laughing so hard.  My boys are so lucky to have such awesome older cousins!

If you're ever looking for a park buddy you know who to call!

Two Sunshines

Keller loves music and especially loves it when people sing to him.  I almost always sing "You are my Sunshine" twice before I lay him down to sleep.  The other day Vance and I had this conversation about my singing:

Vance: Can't you just sing "my only two sunshines"
Me: Sure.  (singing) "You are my sunshine. My only two sunshines..."
Vance:  No Mom.  You need to sing "You are my sunshineS. My only two sunshines..."
Me:  (laughing) Okay Vance.  "You are my sunshines. My only two sunshines."
Vance: That's better.  However many kids you have is how many sunshines you should have.

Apparently Vance was feeling a little jaded that I kept singing that Keller was my sunshine and not him.  Vance has never cared much for music so I never sing to him.  I guess he cares enough to make sure everything is fair.  LOL

Just so we are are clear:

I have not one, but TWO sunshines!

I have been keeping busy with photography, but busy is good :)  Busy also makes for one very long post with way too many pictures!

Happy Birthday Chad!

Because Chad has been so busy with work and school, his birthday came and went without too much celebration.  We celebrated with my family at our monthly FHE and went over to the Waldrons for some quick cake and singing happy birthday.  

All he wanted was money for a PS3 so it was pretty easy.  Vance and Keller gave him some of his favorite treats.

I have been busy too so this year we went for store bought cake.  Better than nothing right?

On his actual birthday I hooked up with my niece to take lunch for me.  I LOVE having a niece who can drive!!!  I gave her some money and a card.  Then she picked up balloons, Panda Express (Chad's favorite lunch place), and delivered it to him at the office.  He was surprised!  I wish I could have taken it to him but that just didn't work with mine and the kid's schedule.  Thank you so much Briton for helping out Aunt Alli.  Chad loved it!  It's the first time since we have been married that he has worked at an office so it's fun to be able to surprise him every once in awhile.

I told Chad we'll go out to celebrate after busy season is over.  There are no holidays being celebrated at the Waldron household from January - April 15th.  :)
