We recently had our family photos taken and I love them.  I tried to narrow it down but there are still so many I want to include on the blog for when I make my blog book at the end of the year.  Happy viewing!

Firebirds Soccer

Vance is in the middle of another soccer season with the Firebirds.  He is really starting to love the game and is getting better and better.  I'm definitely not an action photographer but I tried and these are the best results :)

 Vance is a machine on defense.  He rarely lets the other team score a goal....even if that means running straight towards three of the other players and kicking the ball out of bounds just in the nick of time - 

 It has been fun to watch his team progress.  They have had their struggles this season but it finally started coming together.  The kids are all fairly athletic but they were having a hard time catching the idea of spreading out and passing.  Now it looks like soccer instead of a clump of kids running around!

Vance has really started to pick up his speed this season.  He isn't always quick but he has started to realize when he needs to pick up the pace and really sprint.

He isn't afraid to get a little physical.  He has no problems throwing a forearm into the other players and pushing a little.

Sorry the action picture overload but Vance loves to look back at these photos and he never complains that there were too many :)

This is what it's all about -

Sometimes as a parent it is hard not to get too intense or frustrated.  After every game we make a point of asking Vance, "Did you have fun?" He never says "no." Once you hear that, it keeps things in perspective.  I'm glad he's enjoying soccer!

Keller is quite the cheerleader and can hardly wait for his turn to play.  He jumps in every team huddle he can squeeze his way into.

 Next fall we will have two soccer schedules to juggle plus a new baby.  It will be crazy but watching Keller and Vance tear it up on the fields will make it all worth it!
