Vance had hot cocoa fever. The only cure was to ditch school, go get hot cocoa, and watch Christmas movies with Mom. It was perfection!
My girlfriends and I went to Cheesecake Factory for our Christmas gift exchange. It was a blast!
We went and saw some of our favorite Christmas lights around town. Some people seriously go all out!!
I have spent hours working on getting caught up on blog books and the kid's annual books I make them. It feels SOOOOO good to be caught up! I love these books but they are definitely a labor of love.
Keller and I went to Camie's dance recital. It was so cute ;)
I went out with my other group of girlfriends for a Christmas gift exchange too. I love these ladies! I seriously have been beyond blessed with amazing friends!!!
Keller and Vance both had their holiday class parties. Chad was off that day so he was the lucky one who got to go them. Hahaha! They were excited to have Daddy there.
To kick off winter break the whole family went to the Perot Science Museum. They had some really new exhibits and everyone had a blast.
December has been crazy so we have been trying to fit in quiet moments whenever we can. Playing games or reading books by the fire and Christmas tree has been our favorite way to unwind.
We've tried to watch some of the holiday classics. The kids thought Home Alone was pretty hysterical.

Chad and I were able to squeeze in a night out with some of our friends. We went to Southern Junction and had a blast learning how to two step. By the end of the night I think we finally had it! Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of any of the guys but I promise they were there.
Becca won a free bull ride and didn't let the fact that she wore a dress stop her. She was hilarious to watch. Then all the guys gave it a try but no pics of that either. Whoops!
There is a really cool train exhibit of the United States at a local mall. I wasn't sure what to expect but we all loved it. They had this app that had a scavenger hunt so it really made you look close at all the details.
Sutton's favorite part was looking for the train with Lightning McQueen and Mater on it. He would get excited each and every time he saw it. Then he would do his best to shuffle along as it went by. It was the cutest thing.
After the trains we went to one of our favorite sandwich shops for dinner. Everyone must have been hungry because every plate was pretty much licked clean. That hardly ever happens with three kids!
Next on the agenda that evening was driving by Christmas lights in Highland Park. It is a SUPER nice area with gorgeous homes decorated beautifully for the holidays.
Chad and I finally broke down and decided we should wrap presents on the 23rd. We had no tags or bows and were too lazy to go to the store. Bow-less and Sharpie wrapped gifts? Apparently that's how we roll.
Christmas Eve the elf brought everyone a box of cereal. Way to go Dasher!

Keller thought his pajamas were pretty hilarious one night. Who doesn't love a pull-up with a Santa sweater around the waist?
The boys got little excavating blocks in their stockings. They had fun discovering their treasures.
One of the things I really wanted to do this summer was go to Prairie Lights. I didn't think it was going to happen but we snuck it in between Christmas and New Years. It's a drive through light display but about 100x bigger than any I had ever been to. It was really fun and the kids enjoyed it.
We'll definitely be going back!
We had friends over one afternoon and we all played games together. I LOVE playing games and am so glad my kiddos love it too!
About half way through they had a little village. No one wanted to get out because it was frigid outside, but I convinced everyone to bundle up and go explore. I'm glad we did because it was fun. We snapped a group photo, did an inflatable maze filled with holiday characters, and walked through the lighted forest.
