Super Boys

When I was taking Keller's three-year-old pictures I took a few of Vance and both of the boys together.  Here are my two favorite super heroes!

 

 

Texas - Day 6

Our last day in Texas we just let the kids hang around the house, go swimming, and play electronics.  That night Aunt Jennie and Uncle Rob gave everyone some Texas gear to take home.  We had such a great trip and everyone was sad to leave.  Thank you so much to the Ogdens for hosting such a rowdy group for a week!

Texas - Day 5

We took the kids to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in downtown Dallas.  Some of the floors were really more just things to read and look at, but others were really hands on.

They had a screen and race track where you could pick different animals or professional athletes to race.  The kids thought it was pretty awesome.

Keller had fun playing in the toddler area while the big kids looked at some of the other exhibits.

Everyone's favorite floor was the engineering and innovation hall.  They could build all of these different things.  It was really neat!!!

We grabbed some lunch on the way home and went back to Jennie's.  She had a fun craft idea.  You wrote on a piece of paper with a white crayon and then painted with watercolors to reveal the secret message.

I tried to paint and decided I am not much of an artist :)

Vance's FAVORITE part of the trip was going fishing with Uncle Rob.  He had been talking about fishing in Texas for months leading up to our trip.  He just knew he was going to catch a fish.

The pond we went to was so pretty.  We brought chairs for us moms to sit and relax.  The boys who didn't really want to fish brought skateboards and skated on the path surrounding the fishing pond.  It was quiet and pretty - perfection!

They had been fishing for quite awhile and no one caught anything.  The boys were starting to lose hope but they still weren't ready to give up, especially Vance and Colton.

Then Vance caught a fish!!! He did it all by himself and was so proud.  It was hilarious because once he got the bite, he started reeling in the line while running away from the pond.  Uncle Rob came over and helped him get it off the hook so he could proudly take a picture with his first catch!

It wasn't two minutes later and Vance had caught another one!  We fished for a little while longer but at the end of the night Vance was the only one who caught any fish.  He was pretty dang proud of himself.  Chad was pretty proud (and bummed) when Vance called to tell him all about it.

Late that night we experience a crazy Texas rainstorm.  It started pouring rainy and was super windy. Amy and Kelsie were ding dongs and went out to play in it.

It eventually started lightning and thundering so they came inside.  We kept the door opened and watched the storm pass.  There was one strike of lightning that seemed like it hit right in their backyard.  We found out the next day a house about 1/2 mile away got struck and is completely unlivable.  Luckily the family was out of town so no one got hurt.  It was a crazy experience!

Texas - Day 4

All of the boys wanted to hang out at the house and play so that's exactly what they did.  Amy and I went and ran a few errands.  Once Jennie got home from work we took the boys to an indoor trampoline place.

We had literally been there for less than three minutes and both Colton and Vance were sitting on our laps in tears.  Vance legitimately seemed to have rolled his ankle a little and Colton scratched his eye.

Keller had fun jumping...

The older boys did a little bit of everything and had a blast during all of it!

When we got back to Jennie's we celebrated Keller's 3rd birthday!

He was super excited for some chocolate cake and even more presents!
