Chad's parents and baby sister came to visit! We were so excited to have them and had a fulfilled couple of days.
It was a little crazy getting ready for them to come so quick after tax season but I managed to get my little welcome goodies together. I love hosting!
The first day the boys were thrilled to have Grandpa ride bikes with them to school.
We played lots and lots of games together.
On Friday the boys all had school off so we loaded up and headed to Fort Worth Science and Children's Museum for the day. We had never been there but it was so much fun. All of the exhibits were hands on and right at my kids levels. There was also plenty to do for the adults as well. I took WAY too many pictures so I'm going to let the pictures do the talking.
The boys love to play hockey inside and were stoked Grandma and Grandpa were happy to play (boring Mom usually says no...).
However I was happy to take on a few challengers for shuffleboard.
When we were home we bounced back and forth between playing games on the driveway or backyard and cuddling up on the couch or playing games. It was a great balance of playing and relaxing.
Since they visited right before Easter we dyed eggs one morning.
Our next adventure was to Fairpark. We went to the Children's Aquarium and Discovery Gardens/Butterfly Habitat.
Sutton wanted a butterfly to land on his shoulder SOO bad and it just wasn't happening. Chad caught one and attempted to sit it on his shoulder. Sutton stood as still as possible but it immediately flew away.
Then he happily settled for a dead butterfly on his shoulder. Haha!
So my pictures are a little out of order because I took most on my camera and a few on my phone. These are actually are last pictures before they headed home but reorganizing the pictures is too much work.
The mornings were the BEST!!! I told Chad it was like I had my own little fairy. Usually I am the "fairy" who puts things back in their places. When I woke up the Rand and Georganne were my fairies! They emptied the dishwasher, made breakfast, got things ready for the day's activities. It was so nice and I appreciated all their help!
It was a tight fit but we managed to fit in one car every where we went.
Of course we had to show them our archery stuff. Sutton told them EVERY. DETAIL. They patiently listened and nodded appropriately.
Grandma asked Vance what his favorite treat was. Then she went to the store to get the ingredients and made his favorite mint brownies. That recipe is a lot of work so it was a labor of love!
Us girls slipped away for a Buc-ee's and Nike Outlet run.
Our last night we went to dinner at Uncle Julios. Their trademark dessert is a chocolate piñata. We had told the boys we would celebrate the end of busy season with a chocolate piñata and it didn't disappoint.
The boys played rock, paper, scissors to see who got the first hit and Keller won. He hit that like he was playing baseball and wanted a home run. The look on both Keller and the waiter's face makes me laugh every time. He even splashed chocolate and whip cream on me he hit it so hard.
Vance was able to knock the last few pieces off. It is filled with fresh fruit and churros and served with dipping sauces and whipped cream. Yum!!!
Keller was in heaven and randomly said to himself as he ate, "This is the best day ever!" It really was the perfect end to a great day.
