My baby is 2 years old!!! Where has the time gone?! Two years ago our family was completed. It seems like just yesterday I held him in my arms for the first time. We are all still just as smitten with the forever baby of our family. Here are all the random things I can think of about Sutton these days:
Sutton loves his blanket. He always sleeps with it and often times takes it in the car and around the house during the day. He likes it snuggles right up against his face when he sleeps.
Breakfast is Sutton's favorite meal. Everyday (for the most part) he eats to whole grain blueberry waffles and two eggs. He will sit in his high chair for about an hour just eating and watching cartoons. That's usually when I try to get some work done.
Sutton is not a big eater outside of breakfast. He rarely eats a decent lunch or dinner...maybe once a week. He also refuses to eat even one fruit or vegetable! I have introduced almost all of them to him and he is not interested. As he gets a little older and we can better reason with him this is going to change...
He does love to eat ice cream and popsicles. He knows Grandma Sutton always has some and when he gets to her house he walks immediately to the freezer and starts whining. It's ridiculous! Then my mom will look at me and say "Come on...he wants a fudgsicle!" It doesn't matter if it is 8:00 am.
Sutton loves balls! He actually has a pretty decent arm when he throws and dribbles a dang good soccer ball. I can't wait until he gets old enough to put him in sports.
His face is still so expressive. I love that about babies and toddlers. You don't have to wonder what he's thinking. I love his little face in the pictures above and below.
Sutton is grumpy. We love him but he is definitely feisty. He gives some crunchy looks and equally grumpy grunts to go with them. He is also the least friendly to strangers out of all my kids. He likes Mommy ;)
Sutton and Keller have started to develop the sweetest relationship. As Sutton gets older, Keller has all of the sudden realized he has a new friend to play with. Sutton is usually fine to go along with whatever Keller wants. If he isn't in the mood to do that, Keller is content to be "mother-hen" and do what Sutton wants. I love watching the two of them!
Sutton loves Mommy. He likes to sit next to me, on me, in between my legs, etc. You get the idea ;)
He doesn't have a huge vocabulary yet. These are all the words I can think of that he knows how to say: mama, dada, uh-oh, please, yes, more, me, mine, ball, woof, no. He doesn't put any words together yet but I feel like he is just about ready to have a word explosion. He is starting to attempt more words and making new sounds.
Sutton may not talk a lot but he definitely understands what we are saying to him. He can follow simple instructions like "throw this in the trash." It's so cute when you tell him it's bath time. His face shows no emotion and he doesn't say anything but he sprints to the bathroom and starts taking off his clothes.
He LOVES to play outside. He can ride bikes for hours. He also likes to have the big boys take him on rides in the Jeep or jump on the trampoline with him. I am excited for summer because I think he will love swimming in our pool this year.
His likes to watch movies. He won't sit and watch an entire movie but they definitely hold his interest for awhile.
Sutton is a great sleeper. He sleeps 11 hours at night and takes a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. I wish I could find the time to sleep that much!
Sutton folds his arms when we pray. It is so sweet to watch him figure out how his arms fit together to pray.
He is usually fine when we leave him either at school, church, the gym, etc. His face shows no emotion and we just pass him to the other person and leave. When we pick him up he instantly drops whatever he might have in his hands and sprints to us. It's the best!
Sutton thinks Daddy is HILARIOUS! Nobody can make Sutton laugh quite like Chad. Their favorite thing to do together right now is "This little piggy." Sutton starts squealing in delight the moment Chad touches a toe.
He loves to write. I would say color but his writing utensil of choice is a pen. He doesn't really love markers or crayons. He will just scribble and scribble. Then he grabs a new piece of paper from the printer (he loves that part of the process too) and scribbles again.
Sutton does the funniest stance when you say "Ready!". I really need to get a picture of it. He puts his arms in like a boxing position and takes a nice, wide squat. Then his face gets all intense. It's hilarious and I have no idea where he got it from!
