Fall is always a busy time for Chad because of tax extension deadlines. At his last job it wasn't as bad as past years but at his new job it is back to lots to be done. He has been working long, long hours!
However it isn't too bad because he is able to work from home some with this job. Since Sutton and Keller share a room we have an extra bedroom. We kept the bed in there but also created Chad a space of his own.
He works off a lot of computer screens!
I love this little thing I put together. I found old pictures of Chad as a bricklayer and truck driver. He loves Latin quotes and the translation can differ but essentially it says "Every man is a maker of his own fortune." I hope it reminds him of how hard he has worked to get where he is. He has worked his tail off for every forward step and I'm so proud of him. I also included the picture of the family so that he is reminded not only of who he is working hard for but also that no professional success is more important than his role has a husband and father. He is most definitely creating his own legacy.
Now before adding his office space we pretty much never went into that bedroom. However when Chad works from home we all spend way more time in there. I cracked up when I woke one Saturday morning to all the boys hanging out in there -
Everyone just wants to be near Daddy! I'm also included in that group. Sometimes after the kids go to bed and he is still working I will go hang out in there too. I'll read a book on the bed or even just stand behind him and play with his hair or rub his neck and shoulders. I know it sounds a little cheesy but I crave his presence, even if we can't talk. Something about just being near him centers me. I'm beyond grateful for his opportunity to work some of his hours from home.
And believe it or not he does too. He likes to be a part of things and we don't always hang out in there. Haha. The majority of the time when he works from home we go about our lives like Daddy is at the office but it is AMAZING to be able to sneak in a kiss or quick chat here and there.
On a little bit of a tangent, Chad is loving his new job at Armanino. He is still doing public accounting but this firm really seems to be the perfect fit. I tease him because he has changed jobs so many times but all of that has led to him being overly grateful to know THIS is a great fit. They are based out of CA and have a more chill work vibe. The employees get to come and go as they please pretty much (as long as they continue to get their projects done). That alone is huge to Chad! He doesn't mind working a lot but wants to do it on his terms. They also have no set amount of vacation days and manage however much PTO they want to take. It may seem silly but he also loves being able to wear jeans and a polo to work. He still wears a suit if he has client meetings but he has never understood the need to dress up when you don't really interact with clients most days. At his office they have a fitness center and get this...a tranquility room! They can schedule themselves time in the tranquility room to take a quick nap or read a book or just chill for a minute before returning to work. He is doing the type of work he loves. The company is big but not too big. Also they have a history of growth and there seems to be loads of potential for him to advance. All in all it seems to be the perfect place for him and I'm so happy he never settled for less. He knew the kind of company he wanted to work for and he finally found it. Now I'm hoping we stay put for awhile ;)
I also had to include this picture of Vance and Chad relaxing on the bed. Poor Chad really doesn't get much alone time this time of year. If he isn't working or coaching the kiddos sports teams we are all fighting for our share of Dad's time. He is LOVED!
Thanks babe for always being such a great provider. However more than that, I just love doing life with you!
