Leslie & Joe Visit

Leslie and Joe came to visit!!!!!  I have been missing Leslie like crazy so I was so excited to have her come to Texas.  They were only here a few days but it was a blast.

We tried a new restaurant every night and they were all delicious!

One day we headed out to Canton. It is an awesome outdoor flea market type thing.   Joe pulled Leslie and Keller around in the wagon. Haha.

Leslie and Joe thought Sutton's love for ice cream was hilarious and fed him plenty of treats.

Leslie also scored major bonus points by making chocolate chip cookies with Keller.

Everyone loves Leslie's cookies but Keller is her #1 fan!

Joe and Vance enjoyed some time on the PS3.

The weather was beautiful so we played outside for awhile.  Leslie enjoyed getting to feel taller than someone ;)

We also played lots of card games.

Eventually it was time to say goodbye. Keller and I were pretty bummed.  Hopefully we will see them again soon!

Sick & Tired

Unfortunately for Vance he spent the first half of spring break sick.  He hung out on the couch and slept a lot.

He took lots of baths to help him relax.  One night he had been in there a little longer than usual so I went in to check on him.  He had fallen asleep in the bath! After a moment of worry, I started laughing. I am glad he is safe, but it is a little funny.

Poor kid eventually got better and we did our bet to have fun the rest of the week!

Trip to the Zoo

One day I decided we were ditching our school and work responsibilities to go to the Dallas Zoo!  Goody-two-shoes Vance wasn't sure at first but he eventually got on board.  Haha

Memberships were on sale that day so we decided to buy a year membership.  The boys loved every minute of it and can't wait to go back!

The tiger was super active. It walked around roaring for over 15 minutes.

The kids loved the dinosaur train!

Keller REALLY wanted to go the savannah first so by the time we finally made it over to the elephants and giraffes he was so excited.

We ended our trip to the zoo with a ride on the carousel.

It was a much needed R&R day and I can't wait to go back!

Bowling

My mom bought a Groupon for bowling.  The kids were happy to go!

I bowled the absolute worst I have ever, EVER bowled. It was embarrassing! I am glad everyone else had fun though ;)

Happy 30th Chad!

Chad turned 30 on March 12th!!! How awesome are these pictures from the last 30 years?! 

It kind of stinks that his birthday is during tax season.  He never really wants to celebrate because he is working so hard and exhausted.  We did our best to make it a special day though.

I found this paper with fun facts about 1986.  My gift to him was a gift certificate to go skydiving.  Originally I was planning to go on his birthday but he said he might not pull the chute this time of year.  Haha! I decided to give him a gift certificate instead and we will go sometime after April 15th.  The boys also helped me come up with 30 acts of service we would do for Chad and put them in a mason jar.  They were so excited to perform each act of service and demanded Chad pull out strip after strip.  Chad had a relaxing morning!

The boys worked really hard on a book for Chad. It was so sweet.  They came up with all the ideas themselves and worked hard on their pictures.

Keller was excited to give Chad his birthday cake! After celebrating with the kids, we went off on our own. My amazing parents offered to watch the kids for 24 hours. It was a much needed break and the time to ourselves was incredible!

We met up with some friends for lunch and then went into Dallas. I surprised Chad with a hotel room. There is something about relaxing outside your house. There is no pressure to do anything but just chill!

After laying in bed and taking a nap we went to Deep Ellum for dinner and to hang out.  We went to a yummy pizza place and stopped in a few bars with live music.  The vibe in Deep Ellum is so cool and one of our new favorite date night destinations.

I also got a tattoo.  I always tell Chad I love him infinity much.  Out of that love came our three children. So the infinity sign with three hearts is perfect.  It hurt SO bad but I absolutely love it.  Every time I look at it I think how blessed I have been.

The next morning we slept in and relaxed until we had to check out.

Then it was back to reality.  Chad said it was exactly how he wanted to celebrate and that he had a great birthday.
