We had a great Thanksgiving this year! We cooked a ton, ate even more, went camping, and had a great time with some of our favorite people.
Thanksgiving celebration began with my mom teaching me how to make my first turkey. I didn't do anything too crazy because the turkey was really just for turkey sandwiches when we were cooking but it was still fun to learn from my mama.
Chad also got to carve his very first turkey.
Then it was time to cook all the rest of our desserts and sides. Vance picked out and baked on of the desserts and did a great job. He made pumpkin spice cookies with a cinnamon buttercream frosting. They were umm and we will definitely be using the recipe again.
I made caramel popcorn and sugar cookies name cards for my sister's table.
I also baked over 100 rolls because no one can have just one roll...
I loved both my appetizer recipes: spinach artichoke bites and bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers.
My last contribution was raspberry jello pretzel salad. It is the only jello recipe I like!
While I cooked the boys started Black Friday shopping. I was a bit jealous.
We love our neighborhood 7-11 so the boys drew some Thanksgiving cards and delivered them to bring a little cheer to those that had to work on the holiday. Vance's was my favorite. He drew a cornucopia filled with slurpees and donuts. Haha!
Jennie hosted almost 30 people this year and she did a fantastic job. The menu was perfect and everything had that extra touch!

Vance played a piano song that he has been working really hard on. I was so proud!!!
The next day we loaded up my parent's trailer and headed to Centerville, TX. Jennie and Rob's really good friends have some family land out there. It is the perfect country retreat.
Centerville was so relaxing. It is also so pretty. I love to look out and see the pasture and tree line.
Chad's favorite part of going to Centerville is he gets a chance to shoot his guns. The boys all fun shooting at targets and clay pigeons. I think my biggest boy had the most fun though!
The girls got in on the action too!
Some of the guys did some hunting while we were and Mason shot a deer.
Our friends had a dog and my little boys loved petting her and running around with her all weekend.
One of the best parts of camping is the food. Chad and Vance made some delicious food.
We played a lot of Kanjam while we were there. It is such a fun frisbee game for all ages.
There was another three-year old there and Sutton loved having a friend.
They have a two story tree house with a swing and monkey bars. All the boys took plenty of turns on the swing.
Then of course we did a little more shooting...
Keller's favorite part of shooting was collecting all of the shells.
I couldn't resist snapping a picture of Sutton going potty...something all my boys enjoy about camping.
