End of the Year

Sutton graduated kindergarten.  Unfortunately due to COVID we didn't get to attend any sort of ceremony but he took pictures and looked absolutely adorable.  My baby is growing up too fast!

Keller loved third grade!  His teachers really went above and beyond to make learning fun.  His teacher sent an email that I had to snap a picture of because it was definitely one of those proud mama moments!

Vance also had a great year.  He is probably most looking forward to a more normal school year next year.  He didn't love having to eat lunch in his class.  He threw himself into the middle school experience and got involved in sports, clubs, and student council.  His volleyball coach sent me the nicest text which was another proud mama moment that I wanted to document.

I'm beyond proud of these boys.  All of their teachers talked about their character, their willingness to help, and what a pleasure they were to have in class.  Kindergarten doesn't do letter grades but Sutton earned mastery on all skills and is reading far above grade level.  Keller and Vance each earned A honor roll and perfect scores on their math STARR (Texas's standardized test)!  

You all have so much potential and I can't wait to see how your futures unfold!  Love you boys!!!

NY Yankees

 Keller has become a huge NY Yankees fan.  Specifically his favorite MLB player is Aaron Judge, a power hitter and right fielder.  When we saw them on the Rangers schedule, we decided to buy tickets for the family.  We surprised Keller with a Judge jersey and he could barely wait for game day!

We showed up two hours before the game so the boys could watch batting practice and try to get a ball.  They were excited when a player tossed one up to them!

Sutton loved the TX Rangers mask he got.  Even though you didn't have to wear a mask, he happily did for most the evening.

Keller soaked up every second of the evening.  It was so fun to experience the evening with all the boys but especially Keller.

Of course no trip to a baseball game is complete without hot dogs!

I had helped Keller make a sign to take to the game.  He was a little bummed that Judge was not fielding and only the designated hitter for the night but he didn't let that spoil his evening.

The Yankees pitcher had a phenomenal game and pitched a no-hitter (the first no-hitter pitched by the Yankees in 22 years!).  The Yankees fans, including Keller, went crazy at the end of the game.

I hope all the boys will remember the no-hitter game we watched as family.  Chad and I are way more into experiences than things and this is one experience I hope none of us forget.  It was so much fun!

I had to take a picture of Keller passed out on the ride home.  It was a late school night!

Sometimes being a parent is the best!

Sutton @ Soccer

Sutton played another season for the Vipers.  We love his coach, teammates, and the other parents.  He had great ball control, scored plenty of goals, and loved to play defense.

His expression is usually fairly stoic as he plays.  Even when he makes a great play, his face shows no emotion.  His favorite part just may be hustling back to the midfield line after every goal.  I don't get why he thinks that is so awesome but he definitely does.

I loved watching him dribble around players and line up his shot.  

Way to go Sutton!  We loved cheering you on and watching you play this season!

Mr. President

Vance ran for Student Council President.  I am so dang proud of that boy.  He wasn't afraid or too cool to campaign.  He danced around the drop off the line with his poster, started "Vote Vance" cheers in the hallway, and rocked the tie dye.  Results are in and you're looking at next years Student Council President!

We went out for hibachi to celebrate his victory.  He ran against a couple other kids and Chad and I were so relieved when we got the results!
