Backyard

We are so excited about our new backyard. It is the main reason we bought the house and it has already been put to good use.  The boys run and run. The other day put on his boots and rode around the backyard. He looked so country!

 Keller prefers to ride on the concrete and show off his cool tricks. 

 We are thrilled to have a pool/spa in our backyard too. The boys couldn't wait for spring or summer so even though it's November they went swimming!

I can't wait to make some new memories here!

AT&T Stadium

The kids' high school football team made it to the playoffs. Apparently the playoff games are at the Cowboys' AT&T stadium. We decided to drive out there with them to check it out. It was fun to be there and the stadium is pretty awesome.

 Even though the kids cheered their loudest the Wakeland Wolverines lost :(

 They have a pretty awesome student section though!

Signing

We were supposed to sign on October 26th. We ended up signing November 13th. Needless to say we were thrilled to have everything finalized!

 The Ogdens came over to help unpack. Zach helped for awhile. Then he found a baby blanket, assumed the fetal position, and took a nap. Haha.

 The previous owners were very, VERY Texan. The proof is in their close attention to country details in their decor choices. It is awful. I had to snap a few pictures of the things they left us. It makes me laugh!

We are excited to make this house our own.

Homeschool

I homeschooled the boys between houses. I actually really enjoyed it some days.  Other days I wanted to murder everyone, including myself. I don't think I could ever homeschool.

I picked a theme for Keller every week. We did Halloween, pirates, Thanksgiving, etc.  I was impressed at how much progress we were able to make. He is such a smart boy and capable of a lot if you can just get him to focus!

We were doing an M&M sorting activity and I caught him sneaking a few. This is his face when I called him out on it! He cracks me up.

Chad helped with "art" one day. Each of the kids built a model vehicle. Keller made a motorcycle.

Vance made a jet.

Sometimes to pass the time as they worked on their assignments I would color.

So excited to get Vance back in school!!!

Keeping kids busy

While the kids weren't in school I did my best to keep them busy. We hung out at the house during the morning while I worked. After Sutton's morning nap we would go somewhere.  Here is a little bit of what we have been up to -

We went to The Coop. It was a fun, modern, indoor play place. The kids liked it so much we went back later that day. We will definitely be going back there again.

 Of course the kids managed to get plenty of iPad time in. Those things are a blessing and a curse!

We went to this enormous park called Hope Park. I love the beautiful fall weather and we try to get outside when we can.

 Keller plays outside with Kelsie's dog all. the. time. They keep trying to give it to us but I just am not a dog person.

 Vance wrote his old class in Vegas a letter. I thought it was so sweet. Here he is mailing it off!

 Usually on Fridays I got to lunch with my mom and sisters.  I took the boys to lunch instead. It wasn't near as fun :(

 We went to the Sci-tech discovery museum. At first there was a field trip there and it was awful! After about an hour they left and we had the place pretty much to ourselves. Hallelujah!

 We had a few movies nights and snuggles with mom. I love cuddles on the couch!

 Keller helped Aunt Jennie make some yummy pumpkin french toast.

 He maybe took a few breaks to man handle the dog. Poor doggy!

Vance quickly made some neighborhood friends.  I love to see kids playing outside.

Before I sat down to write this I was feeling like we hadn't done much. I guess that's not exactly true!
